About Laparoscopic Hernia Repair
Laparoscopic hernia repair is a minimally invasive surgical procedure used to repair hernias — abnormal protrusions of tissue or organs through a weak spot in the surrounding muscle or connective tissue. Using small incisions and a camera (laparoscope), our surgeons repair the defect with precision, significantly reducing recovery time and post-operative pain compared to open surgery.

Surgical Procedure
During laparoscopic hernia repair, 3–4 small incisions (5–10 mm) are made near the hernia site. A laparoscope (camera) is inserted through one incision to provide visual guidance, while surgical instruments are inserted through the others to repair the hernia. A lightweight surgical mesh is typically placed over the defect to reinforce the abdominal wall and prevent recurrence. The procedure is performed under general anaesthesia and typically takes 1–2 hours.
